Lagos is one of the mega cities in Africa!
A city full of life and energy. Is it the noise of the traffic, or a woman selling smoked corn under an umbrella, begging customers to patronize her business.
A city where you see different kinds of vehicles, especially the yellow buses called “Danfo” which converges people to different destinations. Nigeria has 36 states and one of them is Lagos State, with Ikeja as the capital of the state. Lagos remains to be the most populous and a major financial centre. Always full of energy—a vibrant tapestry of culture, innovation, languages, a blend of traditions, and limitless opportunities.
Many foreigners assume Lagos is the capital of Nigeria, but Nigeria’s capital city is Abuja. Though, Lagos was once the capital of Nigeria until 1991, when Abuja became the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos is home to around 80% of Nigeria’s industry. It is a city of contrast, from the hustle and bustle seen in Balogun market and Idumota to its glamorous high-rise buildings located on Victoria Island.
